Wanted: Class Lists

May 26, 2003 -- We need your help to find and register more alumni. TCHS Alumni News would like to have copies of class lists. Many people have collected them over the years for reunions or other purposes.

Here's how we'll use your list.

First, we'll compile it into a simple list of names like those connecte to the Class Contacts page (table of contents). Because our site is regularly indexed by major search engines (for a demonstration, go to Google.com and search on 'Temple City High School'), anyone searching for the name of an alumnus will find our site. If that person is an alumnus, there's a good chance he or she will register.

(Have you ever done a search for your own name? Try it at Google.com, putting your name into quotation marks to create a search on your full name.)

Second, for persons in your lists who have email and are not in our directory, we'll send them a message asking them to register. (You could do that for us; BIG HELP!)

Third, with a little data processing magic, we'll put your list into the directory, with missing persons identified by a special symbol and accompanied by a 'Please Update' link. Over time, the list will become self-correcting (with the exception of those alumni who wait too long, if you catch my drift).

Thanks for your interest. If you have a list, please send it to editor@tchsalumni.org. We can read almost any file, but our favorite formats are (1) tab-separated ASCII; (2) Excel spreadsheets; SQL database exports, in that order. If you have a word processing list, send it along; it will be processed "in the fullness of time."
