A Thumbs Up for Hosts
Anyone planning a reunion in the Temple City/Arcadia area needs to seriously consider the Santa Anita Inn in Arcadia and B.A.G. Corp., the on site caterers.

This place is ideal with lots of gardens and outdoor areas that you forget you are in the city.  The food is top notch, accommodations good, environment the best!

Talk to me first and I'll give you my suggestions for absolutely the best they have to offer.

Oct 01, 2003 -- Class of 1968 35 Year Reunion, the condensed story:

We started our three day reunion with a cocktail party on Friday night.  Some snacks, a bar, yearbooks, photos from days gone by, a slide show of our last reunion, and basically a good chat-up.

Saturday morning we were off to the racetrack for breakfast and to watch the horses workout.  As luck would have it, the track was offering a free Seabiscuit tour of the stables and much, much more that everyone enjoyed.  Some of our class worked at the track in their youth and knew some trainers still there and we got to chat with them as well.

Saturday afternoon, we were on our own.  Some went to visit family and friends still in the area, some went to see the school, some shopped at the mall, and others swam and sat out by the pool at Santa Anita Inn.  Later in the afternoon some members of our class brought bottles of wine for a wine tasting and judging.  I can't tell you which wine won, someone drank all the evidence before I could tell.

Saturday night began with a continuation of the Friday night events, a fabulous dinner, a wonderful magic show performed by a former class member, a DJ and some dancing, and a raffle with everyone winning something.

Sunday morning we had a spiritual gathering to discuss what 35 years has taught us about life, love and class reunions.  One thing we learned was we really like each other and we don't want to wait five years until our next reunion.  We have decided to have annual mini-reunions until our 40 year reunion, the first being next year at Del Mar.  This was followed by yet another wonderful meal prepared by the caterers at Santa Anita Inn, a four course lunch.  After lunch, it was off to an afternoon in a box or two at Oak Tree Opening Day at the track.

We are giving serious thought to including the classes of 1967 and 1969 in our 40 year reunion.  If they or other classes want to be included, they can contact me and I will pass their information on to that reunion committee when organized.
