Community to Celebrate Fifty Years of Temple City Schools

TCUSD/TCHS 50th Anniversary Site
Nov 04, 2003 -- Save the dates: October 15-16, 2004!

Alumni and friends of the Temple City schools say they are planning a HUGE event for October 2004 celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of TCUSD & TCHS.

The homecoming game October 15th will be followed on the 16th with an all day festival at North Field.

The goal of the planning committee -- led by Kathy (Archer) Keithley (1978) and by Linda (Wolf) Payne (1968) of the TC Chamber of Commerce -- is to attract 5,000 people to the event. All 7 schools will be represented with booths, food, music, teacher tributes, memorabilia, memory wall, etc.

Announcements were distributed at homecoming 2003 in October. The committee is developing resources and seeking volunteers. Persons who can participate or sponsor all or part of the event are encouraged to contact the committee soon!

Among other activities the group hopes to reunite past majorettes, flag twirlers, cheer leaders, or drill to do a reunion performance and to encourage former singers, marching and dance band members, and other performers from past eras to recreate their sounds. (Temple Belles and Brightsiders take note.)

If you do business in Temple City, TCHS Alumni News urges you to consider advertising in this publication and on the Anniversary web site. A reciprocal aid plan is being developed between the event and TCHS Alumni Dollars for Scholars, with the magazine's net proceeds to go to the scholarship fund.

Hers a thought, why don't we just all meet at North Woods Inn, and see who all can keep from going to jail..... See you there Linda, I mean the reunion... Oh ya, I'm married to a wonderful gal (Yvette) and have two fantastic kids. My kids are married and yep, I'm a Grandpa. Papa "G" is the name, and spoiling my Grandaughter is my game.
