TCJHS Teams Nicknamed Rams, Set Standard for TCHS Athletics

Nov 16, 2003 -- Perry Davis, who attended Temple City Junior High School in the early 1950s and now lives in Melbourne, Australia, has sent us some pictures of one of the football teams of the era.

The team was caricatured by Mat Dager(?) in the roles of the Seven Dwarfs.

At the time, TCJHS was part of the Pasadena school district. Temple City formed its own district in 1954. The student body of the new TCHS held an election in 1956 and retained the name "Rams" from among several candidate nicknames.
