Fourth Generation Rams Headed for Graduation
Sep 19, 2004 --
Suppose that in a given year at least one girl who graduated from TCHS married and had a baby at 18 or 19. (Suppose she were even more precocious.)
Now assume further that
- this happened starting with the class of 1956 and more or less every year since
- some of those girls raised their families in Temple City (sorry guys, we're essentially irrelevant here, long-ago smiles notwithstanding)
- their daughters did the same
- and their daughters did likewise
If so, then the first fourth generation students should graduate from TCHS around 2010, give or take a couple of years. Given the spacious vehicles of the past and the mobility of Southern California teenagers, perhaps sooner.
So let's test this hypothesis. If you are the parent of a fourth generation TC student, or a student who will soon enter TCHS, let us know when he or she will graduate. There's no prize, but it's interesting to consider the continuity. Tell us what moved you to stay close to home (about half of the people in the alumni list have zip codes in LA County).
We look forward to your replies. Add a comment below, or send us your stories. (No, Arcadia and San Marino don't count.) -RC
