China Travel Organized by TCHS Alum'

Step into China with Karen Kramer.
Jan 11, 2005 -- "Qigong in China" is a travel opportunity organized by Karen Kramer '60. After a two year hiatus the program has resumed, with two trips planned for 2005.

(Karen reports the trips will be "terrric.")

In March/April a group will visit the traditional historic sites in China, Beijing, Xian, cruising the Yangtze River through the fabled Three Gorges while there is still time to enjoy the splendor. The group will also visit Wuhan, Shanghai and the goddess isle, Putuoshan.

In September another group will travel to Beijing, Xian and into Yunnan Province where travelers will visit the delightful Kunming, quaint Lijiang and Shangri-la. (Yes, it is the Shangri-la that Hilton wrote about in Paradise Lost). The tour will continue to Guilin, where the cruise continues on the Li River and on to Shanghai.

Costs appear reasonable, groups are small and travelers learn about Chinese health care practices along the way.

Your editors have suggested that TC folks might like to ask Dr. Kramer to plan an excursion for the alumni association. We'll leave it to you to persuade her.

(BTW, "qigong" is pronounced "chee-gong" - someone finally found a use for the letter Q.)
