My Favorite Teacher
Feb 19, 2002 --
We're looking for stories by present and former students about their teachers.
Stories can include vignettes about your in-class experience, or you can write a biography of a favorite teacher, including career and other information.
These folks helped to make us what we are today. Other alumni are interested in your story.
If you have a story/article to contribute, contact the editor for requirements and for specifications on how to send it.

Mrs Annette was my favorite teacher. Was always willing to go the extra mile for her students. If it was not for her I would had gotten kicked out of school. We stayed intouch for years. I still have a poster she gave me over 30 years ago. She said it looked like me. I am a better person because of her. Thank you MS Thompson. |

Without a doubt, Mrs. Claire Marquardt was my absolute favorite teacher. I had her for Creative Writing and Humanities. She made the class so much fun! It seems like each class she had us laughing. She made me want to do well.
I recently ran into Claire, and Denny, her husband in Studio City. We were thrilled to see each other! I told her
I was back in college and she was so happy for me. I just love her!

I think my favorite was Del Hassenplug (sparkplug for short)in auto shop for putting up with me and others of the zoo crew. I remember Del telling Paul Martini to get a teachers VW and bring it into the shop, what he forgot to tell him was it needed brakes and you can imagine what happened. led foot Paul ran it into one of the Garage doors where Richard DelSignore was working on his mothers car haha |

Most of my teachers were great then. The teachers loved us and we loved them. I remember when Steve Weddle drove his car through the hall ways. Can you imagine if someone did that today. Those were the good old days, when kid could be kids without being put in jail. Oh yea, Miss Dun was one of my favorites I will never forget what she said to me. I asked her why she was not striking with the other teachers, and she said, "Anita, I would do this job for nothing, cause I love to teach." We need more like her. |

There was a Mrs. Shultz who taught comm. skills II. Don't remember her first name. She had young kids and was always telling us funny stories about them. Then she read us a book called "Love You Forever", she cried, we all thought she was silly. I bought it one year for my mom for mother's day, she read it and cried. I thought she was silly. The other night I read it to my 4 year old daughter, Bailee, and it made me cry. I remember Mrs. Shultz telling us, "when you are a parent, you will understand." Well, Mrs. Shultz, now I understand. Miss Corky Dunn was also one of my favorite teachers, I didn't see her on the faculty list. So I was concerned about where she might be, I couldn't imagine her not teaching there. Does anyone know what she is doing? |

My favorite teacher had to be Dan Acuff....some of the things he taught have stuck with me after all these years. Where is he now? I also loved Mr. Martin's anatomy class. He made this class so interesting. |

Pilcher was, hands down, the best government teacher. He definitely should go down in the books as one of TC's greatest people. He always had a story to go along with whatever political event was going on at the time. He asked for a volunteer one day and told me I was it. From that point on I was his student aide and he was an awesome mentor. His stories and advice will always stick with me. Where are ya, Pilch? The boss misses you! |

I didn't think things could get any better for me personally because i have been through a lot but the day that i met Mrs.Holley, everything changed. Mrs.Holley has been my spanish teacher for 2 years now and she and i have grown so close to each other. she makes me feel warm and loved. I told her i was having surgery the other day and she just hugged me and told me i was in her thoughts and prayers and she said she would always be there for me and if i needed her for anything for me to just call her, she is so precious in every which way and i am sooo thankful i have mrs.holley! Shes sooooooo sweet and so precious! Never backs down for one student............... |

My favorite teacher was Roger Locky, the Choir Director. I first met him in 7th grade (at Oak Ave Jr. High) when I joined the choir, thru my Senior year. I was part of the Chamber Singers in H.S. He was a role model, a great man! It would be nice to say hello to him. |

My favorite teacher was Mrs.Pierce, my chemistry and biology teacher. She helped me in chemisty a lot because I had trouble in that class. She was my 7th grade teacher when I had her for the very first time. If your reading this Mrs.Pierce, I always was too shy to tell you this but you are the best teacher anyone could ever have and I really appreciate you a whole lot! |

Since I have lived in Glendora for 23 years now,I ran into Roger Lockie last spring-his grand daughter Brooke played on my daughter Michelle's Lassie League softball team.He never was my teacher, but we talked a lot,he's genually one tremendously nice guy. Also, our principal Wes Bossen is a real prince as well. I never know him as a student, but we met during my son's and his grandson's Little League days. His wife advised me to love every minute of my kids activities. I do. Thanks,Greg. |

P.S.on above-I feel the most valuable TC non-teaching human asset was our counselor,Ernie Fuller. He always seemed to affirm your value as a human being, always offered honest positive suggestions when needed, never seemed to get down on you, and always made us feel welcome whenever he saw us. I always remember him in this way, and others who knew him felt the same way. Thanks one and all. |

I happen to come across this discussion board and it made me think of my 2nd grade school teacher. Her name was Ms. Dilahunt who taught at Mosshill Elementary school in the mid 1970's. I would like for her to know that she was my favorite teacher. I have never forgotten her and hope that I can become the type of teacher that she was. |
