If you have friends who've visited the site and had problems, we appreciate the reports many of you have sent. Here's what we've done to address the problems. First, we found that many Windows 95/8 people are still using old versions of Netscape, specifically Netscape Communicator, versions 4.7 and 4.8, that weren't coping with a certain technical error we made that more modern browsers can forgive. The directory now loads correctlly in that configuration. (This brings up the point that it's probably time to turn your Pentium II into a boat anchor and upgrade.)

If you have a technical problem, please write to the editor. Describe the problem and tell us specifically what happened and what any error message said. VERY IMPORTANT: Tell us what computer operating system and browser you were using.

During the next month, we'll be addressing the integration of the alumni directory and the Forums. At present it's necessary to create a separate identity in each. Soon your registration in the alumni directory will also link to the Forums. At that time it may be necessary to assign new Forum nicknames.

We're working hard to earn your participation. In exchange, we hope you'll participate fully. The most important contribution you can make is to send news. Just click the Send News link in the Table of Contents and type a short note. OR you can prepare, copy and paste a complete article for consideration by the editors. The main benefit to your friends will be keeping them from reading more stuff by the same writers. Boring!

Invite a friend! Use the link of the same name in the TOC.

The editors thank you for your interest. Stick with us!
